A native of Holland. The "Meadow Clary or Meadow Sage" is an exceedingly abundantly blooming plant and wonderfully aromatic. The field sage, with its beautiful violet-blue flowers on the dark-coloured stem, loves a sunny spot. This spot is preferably calcareous and not too wet. A lovely plant for bees and bumblebees. Previously common on our river dikes and railroad verges. For a possible 2nd flowering in the late summer, it is preferable not to cut back (too much).
